Portland, OR 97205

What time is the event?

Registration opens at 5:30PM on the 3rd floor

What will the program be like during Chair Affair?

When you arrive, there will be a cocktail hour on the 3rd floor where you’ll have a chance to enjoy music from the Kurt Deutscher Trio, purchase raffle tickets, bid on silent auction packages, participate in the Prize Pull, and sponsor artist-created children’s chairs. Mix and mingle with other guests, have some complimentary beer or wine from the bar, and get your picture taken at the photo booth! After that, we’ll call you to dinner and the program will begin. While you eat dinner, you’ll hear inspirational stories, get the chance to bid on live auction items, and learn more about Community Warehouse. Once the program is over, stick around for music, a Tango lesson, dancing, and more fun!

What is the Children’s Chair Sponsorship?

Prior to the event, local artists transform small chairs into beautiful, creative works of art for our younger clients. Guests at Chair Affair will have an opportunity to sponsor the chairs for $500 each. The chairs will be displayed for guests to view at the event, and then they will return to our Warehouses, where children visiting the furniture bank with their family can pick their very own chair.

There will also be 1 children's chair from this collection in the silent auction that will go home with the highest bidder.

What is a Bid Frenzy and how does it work?

As a part of the live auction, the Bid Frenzy is a chance to get excited and throw those bid paddles in the air as quickly as possible! These exciting, lower-priced packages will have a set price and all you have to do to win is to be the first bid paddle in the air.

What should I wear to Chair Affair?

Cocktail attire and dancing shoes!

Where can I park?

There is paid street parking around the hotel, and a Smart Park parking garage on 10th Avenue, between Yamhill and Morrison. The MAX Red Line stops at the Galleria/SW 10th Ave stop, a block away Sentinel Hotel.

What kinds of drinks will be available and will they be complimentary?

Beer, wine, sodas, water, coffee and tea will all be complimentary at the event. There will also be a full bar if you’d like to pay for your own cocktail.

What if I have a food allergy?

Just let your server know when you get to your dinner table the night of the event. They can accommodate any food requests you have (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc).

How can I purchase an auction item or donate to Community Warehouse at the event?

You will be asked for your credit card during the registration process when you arrive to start a tab. You will then be provided a bid number to make any donations or purchases. We have many different opportunities to give throughout the night, including a Golden Ticket raffle, a silent auction, a Prize Pull, a Children’s Chair sponsorship, a live auction, bid frenzy, and special appeal. The credit card on file will be charged at the end of the night to include all of your purchases. You will only be charged for what you spend. You will be emailed your receipt, or we can print one for you that night. You can also bring a check or cash to pay for purchases at check-out.

Can I bring children?

This event is for 21+ adults.

What about the after-party?

Following the program, we'll have a short Tango performance and a lesson for you to participate in. Then we'll dance the night away with DJ Kyle Dobashi to really celebrate the lives we're changing together.
