Where is the event?

This year’s Chair Affair takes place at the Hyatt Regency Portland, located at 375 NE Holladay St. Reserve a room today here.

 

What time is the event?

Registration opens at 5:30PM.

What will the program be like during Chair Affair?

After you check in at the registration table, there will be a cocktail hour where you’ll have a chance to purchase raffle tickets, participate in a silent auction, sponsor a child’s chair, and more! Mix and mingle with other guests while enjoying some complimentary beer or wine from the bar. After that, you’ll be asked to have a seat at your dinner table and the program will begin. As you eat dinner, you’ll hear inspirational stories, be able to bid on live auction items and learn more about Community Warehouse. Once the program is over, stick around for music and dancing!

How long will the cocktail hour be and when is dinner?

Cocktail hour is from 5:30-6:45PM. Dinner will begin at 7PM.

What should I wear to Chair Affair?

Business or cocktail attire.

Where can I park?

There is a paid parking structure adjacent to the Hyatt. Metered street parking is also available near the venue.

What kinds of drinks will be available, and will they be complimentary?

Beer, wine, sodas, water, coffee and tea will all be complimentary at the event. There will also be a full bar available if you’d like to pay for your own cocktail.

What if I have a food allergy?

Just let your server know when you get to your dinner table the night of the event. They can accommodate any food requests you have (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.).

How can I purchase an auction item or donate to Community Warehouse at the event?

When you arrive, you will be asked for your credit card during the registration process to start a tab. You will then be provided a bid paddle to make any donations or purchases. The credit card on file will be charged at the end of the night to include all of your purchases and you will only be charged for what you spend. You will be emailed your receipt, or we can print one for you that night. You can also bring a check or cash to pay for purchases at check-out.

This event is appropriate for adults and older teens.

Zero-tolerance policy at Chair Affair:

We are committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience at our event. To most effectively do that, we have developed a zero-tolerance approach to aggression, abuse, harassment, discrimination, and violence onsite at Chair Affair. The benefit of this policy is that staff, guests, donors, and vendors will feel safe throughout the entire event.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, national origin, religion, age, marital status, military status, or any other status protected by law; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of the event; and inappropriate physical contact.

Sexual harassment refers to verbal, physical, and visual conduct of a sexual nature that is unwelcome and offensive to the recipient. This includes, but is not limited to, sexual flirtations, advances or propositions; verbal comments or physical actions of a sexual nature; sexually degrading words used to describe an individual; an unwelcome display of sexually suggestive objects or pictures; sexually explicit jokes; and offensive, unwanted physical contact such as patting, pinching, grabbing, groping, or constant brushing against another’s body. 

Other areas of unsafe behavior may also include:

  • Violation of any local, state or federal laws;
  • Interference with the operation of the event
  • Fighting or challenging others to fight
  • Failure to comply with event site safety personnel
  • Non-compliance with laws governing the purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol
  • Illegal drug possession and/or use onsite

Our highest priority is to ensure the safety and comfort of those participating at the event. Anyone asked to stop any of the harassing behavior outlined above is expected to comply immediately or be removed from the event. If the first offense is determined egregious enough, they will be removed from the event. We have empowered all of our on-site staff to execute this policy to ensure their safety and that of everyone onsite.
